CCRO Roadmap for Working Groups
With thirteen initiatives now at some stage of development, we have proven that we are
very good at growing the best membership of experts and at expanding our scope of
topics. We now need to try to strengthen our processes for working group productivity.
As members, we are all responsible for the CCRO’s success in creating
valuable deliverables, developed together, to benefit us all.
We want to briefly touch on some concepts that we are starting to implement for clarity
of our typical working group’s process. These concepts are already leading to some great
deliverables at the CCRO! Consider, the working group discussions to follow…

Energy Transition Working Group
Our CCRO community of energy companies recognizes that to transition from
hydrocarbon reliance, and then perhaps back again, many new risks and opportunities
must be understood &managed. This group aims to address the diverse challenges of the
energy transition so as to bring understanding and establish best practices that lead to the
advancement of our industry’s risk management protocols.
In 2025, the group will collaborate with the Scenario Analysis Working Group, co-creating
an Energy Transition-based Scenario Workshop that will be the first of its kind at the
CCRO. The group has found that scenario analysis is a great way to navigate through the
risk management issues found in the energy transition and the findings from the
Workshop will guide the work going forward for the group… More info:

Model Risk Management
How can we identify and understand model risk within the
context of the energy industry? Are there best practices for
assessing &managing model risk? Starting in 2022, our
members acknowledged the increasing reliance on complex
models in our industry, asking “how might our models be a
source of significant risk?” and what can we do to mitigate
this risk?
We are happy to say that over the last 18 months, the Model
Risk Management Best Practices team has developed a white paper, now ready for
publication.
